He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cowan and Matilda Cowan of Woodstock, Ontario.. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Tonia (Jerry) and Robert; his sister Phyllis Schwarz (Fritz) of London, Ontario.; his stepchildren, Jennifer Nelson (Kurt) and David Timms (Natasha); his grandchildren, Damian, Hewitt, Oliver, Aiden, Catherine and Ava; his niece Juanita Robinson (Shawn); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Liam, Ezra, Charlie, Ari, Cooper, Remi, Avi and Sage.

Cremation has taken place and a "Celebration of Life" will be limited to family and close friends because of Covid-19 restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford, Ontario.
