He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria and Hendrik; his son Michael; and his siblings, Adriaan Griffioen and Elizabeth Hanenburg.

He is survived by: his sons, Henry (Colleen) and Darryl (Michelle); his grandson Max; his wife Ruby Toes; and his siblings, Rita Lawrence, John Griffioen (Deb) and Anita Griffioen (Nino).
