He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Stephanie Gale; and his siblings, Bill Atkinson and Susan Leeson. He is survived by: his spouse Nancy Mae Atkinson; his children, Sonya Murray (David), Kelly Gale (Mark), Tracey Reid (late Scott), Rick Atkinson (Velle) and Myles Atkinson; his stepchildren, Christine Schell (Greg) and Brian Samways Jr (Theresa); his grandchildren, Sarah Murray, Jessica Murray, Sophia Gale, Shane, Angie, Shannon Reid, Nicholas, Alexander and Allin Atkinson; his great grandchildren, Tatum, Noah, Hayden, Caelan, Jason, Asher and Tristan; his brother Larry Atkinson (Heather); and his sister-in-law Marcia Atkinson.
