He was predeceased by: his sons, Larry, Calvin and Randy. He is survived by: his wife Rose Poortinga; his children, Diane Bender (Greg Miskow) and Peter Poortinga (Sandra); and his daughters-in-law, Charlene Poortinga and Carolin Poortinga. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
