He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Geraldine Prinzen and Ben Kempenaar. He is survived by: his parents, Gary Kempenaar and Joanne Kempenaar; his siblings, Christopher, Elizabeth DeLong (Jeff) and Alicia; his nieces and nephews, Daylen and Noahlen DeLong; and his grandparents, Albert and Marie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Donations in memory of Alan, may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
