He was predeceased by: his brothers, Syste (Jannie) and John (Marilyn). He is survived by: his significant other Pamela; his children, Kyle (JoEllen) and Krista Kamstra-Cooper (Kirk); his granddaughters, Madison, Audrey and Mae; and his siblings, Riek (Bill), Frank (Tena), Harry (Lene), Pat (Henk), Jake (Mary), Ray and Piet (Rose). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
