With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Grace Vanderwal (Wingham, Ontario), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Grace left this world on January 25, 2025, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Melle Vanderwal and John van Niejenhuis; her children, Clarence and Tena; and her in-laws, Anne Korvemaker (TiemenϮ), Jerry Talsma (GraceϮ), Mary Berentschot and Laura Heeringa.
She is survived by: her children, John van Niejenhuis (Margaret), Louise Deelstra (John), Grace van Niejenhuis, Sylvia Eelman (John), Annette van Niejenhuis, William van Niejenhuis (Nancy), David van Niejenhuis, Gerald van Niejenhuis (Jacqui) and Harold van Niejenhuis (Ching); her siblings, Tettje, Harm Prins, Sjoukje Spek (BarendϮ), Sarah (BillϮ), Shannon Riley, Harmen, Carol Talsma, Helen Westerman (FredϮ), Gladys and John Vanderheyden; her siblings-in-law, John, Carol Heeringa and Bill Berentschot; her stepchildren, Greta Eelkema, Henny Zylstra (Stephen) and Diane Vanderwal; and her child Goderich. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church (243 Princess St E, Grand Bend, ON N0M1L0). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
