He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Showers and Irene Showers (Taylor); and his brothers-in-law, Ken Hopwood and Harold Capson. He is survived by: his siblings, Ruth Hopwood of Kingston, Verna Capson of London, Leslie and Alice Showers of Bradford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
