Sozan left this world on September 8, 2024 at the age of 40, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Jeff Boughner; her parents, Hanina Khalof and Michel Akel; her siblings, Sameer Akel, Peter Ackle (Nabiha "Nina" Hayek) and Edward Akel (Laura Haley); her parents-in-law, James and Karen Boughner; her brother-in-law Brad Boughner (Kristi); and her nieces and nephews, Alma, Mirell, Emily, Janette, Ileny, Jordyn and Lily. She was also cherished by Uncles, Aunts, cousins, family and all her loving friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor, ON N8N1L8). A prayer was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Ignatius of Antioch Orthodox Church (1808 Labelle St, Windsor, ON N9E1B4).
