Snjezana Gacesa Obituary

On December 17th, 2024 at the age of 82 years, Snjezana quietly departed from our midst. With her daughter Aleksandra and Son in law Ian by her side, she said farewell and proceeded on her journey to be reunited with her parents, Milorad and Milka. She will be missed by her sisters, Bozana (Bozidar), Julka (Danilo), brother Nikola, cousin, Rade (predeceased by Mira), nieces and nephews, Marija (Zeljko), Milena (Jimmy), Jelena (Sean), Marko, Radmila (Warren), Vlado (Rista), grandchildren, Mateja, Stefan, Luka, Teja, Emi, Tommy, Gaby, Anna, Danica, Dane, and many more in Serbia and Croatia. Snjezana was a member of Gracanica Church and Choir, and a member of the Serbian Women's Heritage Society. She dedicated her life to helping newcomers to Canada, by helping them find a roof over their heads, necessary assistance and jobs. She played an integral part in establishing the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County. The last 30 years of her career were dedicated to Draza Milhailovic Place as manager. She continued her passion in life of helping individuals as well as the greater community.

Visitation will be held at Families First South Windsor (3260 Dougall Avenue) 519-969-5841 on Friday, December 20th, 2024 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers will be held at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue at Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Church (1960 Meldrum Road) on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
