He was predeceased by: his parents, William May and Evelyn May; his wife Isobel; his child Lori-Ann Murphy; and his granddaughter Tara Lynn Vitek-Ciarma (late Rudy Ciarma).

He is survived by: his children, Deb Vitek (Don) and Kevin Murphy; his grandchildren, Tiffany Francis (Roger) and Tim Vitek (Shannon); and his great grandchildren, Pierce, Preston Francis, Joseph Donald, Caralina Ciarma, Bennett and Cameron Vitek.
