He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. MacDonnell and Mary Catherine (MacKinnon). He is survived by: his wife Sally; his children, Michael Whalen (Lori), Moira Getty (Dean), Donalda Turner (Bryon) and Jim MacDonnell (Lucy); his grandchildren, Brittany, Raylene, Christopher, Karen, Emma, Klara and Monika; his great grandchildren, Malcolm, Jack and Luke; and his brother Lennie MacDonnell (Brenda).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd, Windsor, ON N8W4E3).

In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated.
