Horatiu Popescu Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Horatiu Popescu, at the age of 67, on October 24, 2023 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
He is mourned by his loving wife of 42 years, Stela, his cherished daughter Andreea, his dear brother Darius, his sister-in-law Claudia and his nephew Stefan, and missed by relatives in his native country of Romania, including his cousins Alecsander and Florica Ciocan, and their children Loredana and Adrian.
Born to parents Stefania “Dorina” and Mircea “Milica” Popescu on July 7, 1956 in Craiova, Romania, he graduated from Constantin Diaconovici Loga High School, and later from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, where he also taught machine construction technology and robotics as a senior lecturer.
In 1996, he immigrated with his wife and daughter to Canada, where he strived to ensure good living and study conditions for his family. He worked for 26 years in Canada and the United States as a mechanical design engineer in the automotive industry, and was highly respected and appreciated. He had an enterprising and innovative mind, always looking for new challenges to solve and projects to carry out, even after retirement.
In 2023, he was affected by an illness that proved incurable, and after 8 difficult months of determination and struggle, he passed away surrounded by his family and friends. He was beloved husband, a good father, a supportive brother, a fun uncle and a trustworthy friend.
Visitation time with family and friends will take place on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM, with prayer service at 6 PM, at Families First Funeral Home, 1065 Lauzon Rd., Windsor, ON N8S 3M8. Funeral ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 at 10 AM, at Descent of the Holy Ghost, 2895 Seminole St, Windsor, ON N8Y 1Y1. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1100 Division Rd, Windsor, ON N8W 1Z6.

Cu adanca durere familia si rudele appropriate anunta stingerea din viata, mult prea timpurie, a celui care a fost Horatiu Popescu, la varsta de 67 de ani, in ziua de 24 octombrie 2023, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Este plans de sotia sa Stela, fiica Andreea, fratele Darius, cumnata Claudia si nepotul Stefan, precum si de rudele din Tara, verisorii Alecsandru si Florica Ciocan, si copiii lor Loredana si Adrian.
Nascut in data de 7 iulie 1956 in Craiova, Romania, a absolvit liceul Constantin Diaconovici Loga si Universitatea Poliltechnica din Timisoara, unde a si predat ca sef de lucrari, technologia constructiilor de masini si robotica.
In anul 1996 a imigrat cu sotia si fiica in Canada unde s-a straduit sa asigure pentru famila lui conditii bune de viata si de studii. A muncit timp de 26 de ani in Canada si in Statele Unite ca inginer mecanic in domeniul automotive, si a fost forate apreciat. O minte intreprinsatoare si innovativa, mereu gasea preocupari si proiecte, si le ducea la indeplinire, chiar si dupa pensionare.
In 2023 a fost afectat de o boala carea s-a dovedid incurabila, si dupa 8 luni de lupta, s-a stins din viata inconjurat de familie si de prieteni. A fost un sot iubit, un tata bun, un frate sprijinitor, un unchi sympatic, si un prieten in care se putea avea incredere.
Vizitare cu familia și prietenii va avea loc miercuri, 1 noiembrie 2023, între orele 16 și 19, cu rugaciuni la ora 18, la casa funerara Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd., Windsor, ON N8S 3M8. Slujba de inmormântare va avea loc joi, 2 noiembrie 2023, la ora 10, la biserica Descent of the Holy Ghost, 2895 Seminole St, Windsor, ON N8Y 1Y1, urmata de înmormântare la Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1100 Division Rd, Windsor, ON N8W 1Z6.
