It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lionel Joseph Henry Assinewai (Wikwemikong, Ontario), who passed away on July 15, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sibling Chris Pheasant (Joanna); and his nieces and nephews, Karen Mejaki, Joanne Recollet, Dwight Jr., Adam Recollet (Sarah Lynn), Wayne Recollet, Rachel Webkamigad-Hare (Sundance), Jordan Peltier, Keegan Peltier (Grace), Jasmine Peltier, Launie Pheasant (Courtney), Preston Webkamigad and Brenden Pheasant.
He is survived by: his cousin Regina Webkamigad; his siblings, Dwight Recollet (Harriet), Caroline Webkamigad, Marc Pheasant (Monica) and Jerrold Webkamigad (Peggy); his great-nephews, Dakota Hare (Kooter), Noah Hare and Hudson Hare; his goddaughter April Peltier; his close friends, Josephine Pelletier and Leonard Naokwegijig; and his cousin Wanda Kimewon. He is also survived by his many cousins, friends.
