He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Agnes; his parents-in-law, Alex McNabb and Marguerite McNabb; and his siblings, Willy and Rosemarie Kirchner.

He is survived by: his spouses, Lynda and Sylvia Tiems-Klein; his children, Lydia Klein (Terry Vinet) of St. Thomas, Romy Klein (Charlie Pfuelb) of Germany, Monika Klein (Dave VanOoteghem) of Port Elgin, Sonja Klein (Darin Taylor) of North Bay and Peter Absolon (Iris) of Vancouver; his grandchildren, Rachel, Spencer, Tina, Marco, Danielle, Chris, Ben, Rose and Tasha; his sister-in-law Shirley McNabb; and his nieces, Raina (Dean Letendre) and Krista (Bill Kirby).
