She was predeceased by: her husband Martin; her brothers, Ivan Bell and Harold Bell; and her siblings-in-law, Dorothy Bell, Grace Centen, Anna Jacobs, Cisca Van Kessel, Norm Ewing, Arnold Centen, Harry Jacobs, Bert Van Kessel, Peter Van Kessel, Michael Prokott and Dewey McRae.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Poremba, Martin Jr. (Suzette) and Gordon (Helen); her grandchildren, Alyna (Dayle Kulakiewicz), Nancy, Joseph Poremba (Paige Zimmel), Katrina, Laryssa Van Kessel (Nathan Dampier), Sarah (Daniel Heatherington), Taylor, Rachel and Amelia Van Kessel; her sibling Shirley Ewing; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Bell, Marlene Bell, Toni, John Byvelds, Theresa Van Kessel, Anton Van Kessel, Pauline Van Kessel, Pieta Prokott and Corrie McRae.
Instead of gifting flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honour her memory make a memorial donation in her name to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre in Cobourg, Ontario, so that others may experience the exemplary end-of-life care offered to Carol in her final days.
