Baerbel Schweizer Obituary

With heavy hearts and much love, we announce the passing of Baerbel (Barbara) Schweizer on April 4, 2025 at the age of 85. Born on December 22, 1939, in Dresden, Germany, Barbara emigrated to Canada with her mom and siblings as a young adult. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Siegfried (Fred), whom she married in 1961. Together they created a beautiful family. Cherished mother of Susan (Wayne), Michael (Nataliya), and Stephanie. Adored Omi to Kristy (Tyler), Andrew (Diana), Nicole (Luke), and Michelle (Mitchell), and Great Omi to Max, Owen and Bennett. Loving sister to Gaby and Dagmar and her predeceased brother, Klaus.

Barbara was known for her kind heart and giving nature. She was happiest surrounded by family and friends. Her devotion to her grandchildren was inspirational. Barbara lived life to the fullest and did everything she ever wanted and more. She was an avid sports fan and was always committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We, her family, are lucky and grateful that we could call such a loving and amazing woman our Mom and Omi.
