He was predeceased by: his siblings, Joseph Ethier (late Vera), Earl Ethier and Vivian Gilchrist (late Jack); his sibling-in-law Desi Hodgins; and his parents, Alexander Ethier and Mina Ethier.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ethier; his sons, David Ethier (Letitia), Darryl Ethier (Donna), Garry Ethier (Sue), Patrick Ethier and Randall Ethier (Pam); his grandchildren, Arista, Katrina, Chantal, Gary, Eric and Cody; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Nicholas, Dominick, Collin, Braiden, Alena, Bryson and Chilo; his siblings, Frank Ethier (late Claire), Lillis Couturier (late Vern) and Laurette Couturier (late Emard); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Ethier, Mike Hodgins (Elaine), Betty Brissette (Armand), Glen Hodgins and Frederick Hodgins (Kelly).
