He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine Haagsma; and his son Roger. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Carter (Dan), John Jr. (Jennifer) and Jason; his grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Ben and Lauren; and his siblings, Jake (Carol), Papki (Elizabeth), Ryan (late Anne), Helen Kirkwood (Brian) and Tracey Knox (Paul). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
