Maurice Moroz Obituary

Passed away after a struggle with a cardiovascular illness, at Welland Hospital on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the age of 86. Survived by his wife Jean of 65 years. Loving father of Kristina Brajer (Moroz), her husband Frank Brajer and their children Melissa and Jessica; and his son Paul Moroz and his wife Rosa Miu and their daughter Sasha. Fondly remembered by: sisters Margaret Moroz and her son Christopher Smith, and Marie and her husband Dr. Richard Pupo; and his predeceased brother Walter Moroz and his living wife Susan; nieces and nephews Marisa, Mark, Micheal, and Linda. Predeceased by parents Peter and Mary Moroz.

Morris was a man of many talents and interests. He started his career at Welland Paint & Glass where he laid the floor during the building of the Welland hospital. Then worked at Atlas for over 30 years in a number of positions in the cold draw. Participated and was one of the founding executives of the COOKS MILLS development group - fighting environmental issues for the Cooks Mills area. He later ventured into the dog world, established Moon Ridge Kennels, and bred many champion Akitas. He loved to play organ, and trumpet also delved in the art of painting and drawing. Friendly and determined he was a fighter his whole life.

The family will receive friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday, September 30 from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Prayers Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at interment at Doan's Ridge Road Cemetery.
