Lexina Wilson Obituary

WILSON, Lexina Olive "Lexie" (nee Taylor) - It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lexie Wilson on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the age of 59, after a courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer, fought every day with dignity, hope, love and courage. Lexie spent her final days the way she lived her life, surrounded by family and friends.

She was the best friend and soul mate to her husband John. Cherished mother of Mike Wilson (Jennifer), Jessie Wilson (Ben Kallender) and Vicki Wilson (Wayne Stillwell). Proud and loving grandmother to Ryan, Peyton, Madison, Quentin, Landon, Alexis and Landen. Dear sister of Betty, Georgina (Wayne), Rick, Dennis (Idalmis), Val (Freddy), George (Rita), Peggy (Andrew) and Nancy.

Lexie will be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Beth Wilson, brother-in-law Robert (Brenda), sister-in-law Cathy and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews . Predeceased by her parents Ronald & Irene Taylor, sister Debbie, father-in-law John Wilson and nephew Corporal Scott Smith. Lexie retired from Walmart in Welland and later worked at Rosehill Plus.

For 37 years, Lexie and John were married and shared an extraordinary love and friendship. Throughout their marriage they had many adventures together, including traveling the world. Everyone who knew Lexie knew that they were in the presence of a free spirit. Lexie knew how to find joy in all things. She found the good in all people.

Focused on family, Lexie held the hearts of her children and grandchildren in her hands. Her love and support were unwavering. Though she will be missed, she will never be forgotten and her legacy will live on through all the lives that she touched. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Sunday, October 15th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

A service to celebrate Lexie"s life will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Monday, October 16th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Catharines General and Port Colborne Hospital for their care and compassion. Memorial donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada.
