He was predeceased by: his wife Lisa Poitras; his parents, Romeo Poitras and Blanche Poitras; and his siblings, Romuald "Ronnie", Jean Guy, Donald, Jeannine, Rolland, Fernand, Fernande and Erma.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Mounsteven (Gary) and Mark Poitras (Laura); his brother Robert (Noreen); and his caregiver Jennifer. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Welland Funeral Home (827 E Main St, Welland, ON L3B3Y8). A vigil service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (https://app-hsfdonation.heartandstroke.ca) or the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
