She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph and Violet; her sister Dorothy Magee; and her nephew Larry Bartholomew. She is survived by: her nieces, Marilyn Robinson (Jonathan), Barb Bartholomew and Linda Levesque (Don); her nephew Glen Magee; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Chris Ravell (Kristy), Amanda Robertson (Scott), Meagan, Shae Ravell and Fletcher Robertson.

In memory of Velda, donations may be made to North Lambton Lodge in Forest or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Watford.
