She was predeceased by: her son Ryan Kapala; her parents, Clayton Minielly and Ella Minielly; and her brothers, Larry, Allan and Dennis.

She is survived by: her husband Don Burns; her children, Dayna Turner (James), Ashley Thyssen (Michael) and Craig Burns (Natasha); her grandchildren, Savannah, Iris, Cedar, Penelope, Lily and Vander; her sisters, Evelyn Steadman (Joe), Sharon Ramsay (Ken), Ilene Cushman (Ray), Marilyn Walker (late Bruce), Brenda Smith, Cathy Unsworth (Mike) and Cheryl Foubister (Don); and her sister-in-law Marilyn MacHutchon (Hector). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
