He was predeceased by: his wife Jean; his parents, Wilhelm Görtz and Katharina Görtz; and his brother Fritz Görtz. He is survived by: his son Manfred (Janette Goertz); his grandsons, Brandon and Evan; and his sisters, Gertrud Schiffer and Agathe Schmitz of Germany.
