He was predeceased by: his parents, Delphine Boehmer and Herbert Boehmer; and his sister Marjorie Harkness. He is survived by: his spouse Jean; his sons, Jay Boehmer (Elaine Nakamura) and Dave Boehmer; his grandchildren, Adam Boehmer and Sarah Boehmer; and his nieces, Joan Harkness (Amir), Jeni Keeling and Jill Keeling.

He had a struggle with Alzheimer's disease and a blood disorder for many years but soldiered on through it all.
