We bid farewell to Ronald John Merkle (Waterloo, Ontario), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 21, 2025. Ronald touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Brittany Merkle; his siblings, Lorraine, Shirley Dietrich (Eddie) and Theresa (Al Dietrich); and his siblings-in-law, John (Betty), Patricia and Ron Beaupre.
He is survived by: his children, Dave Merkle (Helga), Dean Merkle (Kerri) and Lori Zybala (Mike); his grandchildren, Dan Zybala, Jon Merkle (Allison), Stefanie and Keon Merkle; his great grandchildren, Addalyn and Easton Merkle; his siblings-in-law, Len Brenner (Norma), Joanne Dietrich (late Ron), Mary Haffner (late Bill), Hinschberger, Gerry Hinschberger (Dorothy) and Rose Forwell (Wayne); and his close friends, Art and Terry Kropf. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A prayer was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's R. C. Church (80 University Ave W, Waterloo, ON N2L3C7).
