He was predeceased by: his parents, Yang Chaw-Yun and Chan Ah-Twun; and his wife Liao Li-Eh (Nancy). He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline (Jackie), Katherine (Kathy) and Kevin; and his siblings, Hua-Chew, Hua-Mei, Hua-Jien and Hua-Der.
