He was predeceased by: his wife Katharina; his daughter Ingrid; and his siblings, Anna and Andreas. He is survived by: his granddaughter Krystal; his daughter Heidi; and his siblings, John (Katie), Sara, Matthew (Nancy) and Greta (Erwin).
