It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Biernat of Waterloo, Ontario, born in Toronto, Ontario, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents Andrej and Michelina Biernat; his sister Kay; his daughter Leslie Ann Bednarski and his grandchildren, Iris Claire and Harper Grace.

John's contribution to North American comics and comic art cannot be overstated, but he was an equally passionate collector of rare books, fine art, and rich experiences.
