He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Dan Shirk (Gail Bourhill) and Jennifer Witzel (John); his stepchildren, Michaela Ramsden and MacKenzie Ramsden (Kelsey Cook); his grandchildren, Skylar, Xavier and Atlas; his pet Leo; and his nieces and nephews, Amanda, Jason, Michelle, Hadleigh, Tatrianna, Mackenzie, Erika Garraway (Mat), Amy, Meghan and Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Parkinson Society or Alzheimer's Society.
