He is survived by: his wife Christiane (Platthaus); his children, Grischa (Dana), Britta (Walter), Jan (Jennifer) and Gunter; and his grandchildren, Georg, Max, Peter, Nikol, Mona, Jacob, Noah, Lucas, Bastian and Maika. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and friends.
