He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Ertel; his parents, Lloyd and Frances; his brothers, Douglas (Loujean) and Neal (Margaret A.); and his stepchildren, Nadine and Darin.
He is survived by: his son Lloyd Ertel (Lynn); his stepdaughters, Alison and Sonya Kettlewell; his siblings, Bereathe Thompson (Bill), Grant Ertel (Janet) and Garry Ertel (late Alice); and his friend Celeste Fackoury.
