She was predeceased by: her parents, Hein Schmitz and Elisabeth Schmitz; her husband Gerhard; her son Reiner; and her sibling Artur.

She is survived by: her friend Raytheon; her children, Gerry (Susan), Ronald and Edward (Leslee); her grandchildren, Tyson (Katharine), Owen (Shannon), Elena, Nolan, Erika (Alex), Anthony (Tyra), Tristan, Gregory, August, Yggdrasil, Willow, Wyatt, Morgan, Sawyer, Vera, Eli, Miles, Riah and Charlotte; and her sister-in-law Agathe Klingspon.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Chapel (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A reception was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A burial was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (2723 Victoria St N, Breslau, ON N0B1M0).
