I will confess their name before my Father and before his angels." - Jesus Doris Florence Lyons (Dietz) went home to her Saviour Jesus Christ at The McCausland Hospital in Terrace Bay, Ontario on September 13, 2018, at 66 years of age. The youngest of 4 children, she was born to Wilfred & Frieda Dietz on April 10, 1952, at Walkerton, Ontario. She is predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother Allan and her sister Eileen Lamb. Doris is survived by John, her husband of 41 years, and her three children Lynda, Charlie (Lindsey), and Tim as well as her brother Mervyn (Joyce) and her seven grandchildren: Ellary, Caleb, Maya, Jake, Olivia, Annie, and Emery. At a young age, Doris made a decision to trust the words of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Holy Bible. Her faith in Him was lived out in her early years particularly through the very enjoyable tasks of teaching Sunday school and playing the organ in two Lutheran churches not far from the family farm. Throughout life's changing seasons, raising her three children anchored her being each and every day, showing a quiet and firm resolve through every trial and difficulty. Especially in her final days, when asked how things were with her, she would respond determinedly, "my name is written in the Lamb's book of life." Doris' strength, perseverance, and rock-solid faith in Jesus Christ during her battle with cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her. The family offers deep thanks to Dr. Hannah Shaheen and the North of Superior Healthcare Group in Terrace Bay for their patience, love, and concern. The memorial service will be held at Northside Baptist Church, 1373 Lobsinger Line, Waterloo, Ontario on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
