He was loved and cherished by many people including: his niece Claudia; his nephew Philip; his mother Winifred "Freda" Lindsay Armstrong (Ernest); his sister Ann Hannan of Ottawa; his former wife Shirley Fairlie of Bamburg; and his father Montreal. He was also cherished by the four children and grandchildren.
