He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Dietrich and Edna Dietrich; and his brother-in-law Donavon Schiedel. He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his children, Mark (Lea) and Krista (Alain); his grandchildren, Fraser and Hunter; his stepgranddaughter Jennifer (Chris); his great grandchild Chloe; his sisters, Marlene Smith (Bill) and Sandra Schiedel (late Donavon); and his sister-in-law Karen McGregor (Jim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Chuck was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kitchener, where he was integral in establishing the church's bequest fund, St. Matthew's Foundation, volunteered as an usher and sat on church counsel.
