He is survived by: his children, Katrina Nicks (Luke Pawlak) and John Nicks; his grandchildren, Alyssa Nicks and Jake Haskett; his brothers, Charles Nicks (Barbara) and Terry Nicks (Nellie); and his sister-in-law Joyce Nicks.
As expressions of sympathy donations may be made in memory of Rob to Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters or St Joseph's Healthcare Hospital in Hamilton.
