He was predeceased by: his nephew Peter Bowen; and his parents, Peter Mior and Michelina Mior. He is survived by: his children, Phillip, Jennifer, Kristina and David; his grandchildren, Cooper, Brady, Carter, Charlie and Lucy; his siblings, Rocky Mior (Liz) and Anna Mior (Garfield); his nieces and nephews, Michael, Joseph Bowen, Michelle Bowen and Amira; his former spouse Ann-Marie Mior; and his girlfriend Theresa Di Lorio.

If desired, donations can be made in Giovanni's name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
