He was predeceased by: his father Boyd Gennings; his grandparents, Willis, Irene Gennings, Stewart and Hazel Cave; and his uncle Bryan Gennings.

He is survived by: his mother Linda Gennings; his brother Michael; his sister-in-law April; his nephews, Samuel and George; his aunts and uncles, Mary (Ed Ryynanen), Ray (Tina Cave), Scott (Tammy Cave), Janet Gennings and Glenda Deakin; and his cousins, Travis, Diane, Julia, David, Tonya, Sean, Abby and Matthew.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home - Wasaga Beach Chapel (509 River Rd W, Wasaga Beach, ON L9Z2X2). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Donations in memory of Daniel can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or any youth oriented sports organization.
