He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry McDougall and Kathleen McDougall (Vongunten); his wife Hope McDougall (Ritchie); and his siblings, Marjorie Miller (late Syd) and Harry McDougall (late Rena).

He is survived by: his son John Harry McDougall; his grandchildren, Ryan (Sherrie), Daniel and Jonathan (Ada); his great grandchild Lily; and also, Maddie and Scarlett.
