He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorne Shantz and Almeda Shantz (Good); his stepmother Mary Shantz (Horst Gingrich); his brothers, Roland Shantz (Fern), Stewart and Richard; his sister-in-law Dianne Shantz (Roth); and his niece Janet Mazereeuw (Charles).
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Shantz (Hillis); his son Cooper C. Shantz (Erin); his granddaughter Olivia; his stepchildren, Clinton Hunter and Cassandra Brubacher (Peter); his granddaughters, Maeve, Maiya and Cambridge; and his siblings, Esther Shantz, Ken Shantz (Myrna), Eileen Bauman (Clare) and Yvonne Pomeroy (Clare).
