With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Schaefer (Walkerton, Ontario), who passed away on June 27, 2018 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charlie Schaefer; her daughter Sharon Little (Jim); her parents, Jack Spitzig and Gertrude Spitzig; and her siblings, Fran Meinstra (Peter), Bernard Spitzig, Annabelle Wilhelm (Francis), Barb Ruetz and Pat Spitzig.
She is survived by: her children, Jim (Shelley) of Allenford, John of Port Elgin, Bill (Sue) of Hanover, Doug (Kim) of Walkerton and Ron (Julia Dewes) of Port Elgin; her grandchildren, Derek Little (Devin Fisher), Andrea Little (Ian McHaig), Shaun Schaefer (Catherine), Natasha Assinck (Pat), Katie Barker (Matthew), Devin Schaefer, Jenna Tonkin (Matt), Scott Schaefer (Karley Gilbert) and Julia Schaefer (Grant Reinhart); her sisters, Joan Ernewein (Alf), Agnes Hallahan (Mike), Mary Ernewein (John) and Pauline Cuneo (Steve); and her sister-in-law Linda Spitzig. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Internment at Calvery Cemetery, Walkerton As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Walkerton Hospital Foundation - CT Scanner, would be appreciated by the family.
