He was predeceased by: his brother Edward Mulhern; his parents, Patrick Mulhern and Anne Mulhern; his brother-in-law Bob Duncan; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Edna Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Kelly Hooper (Stuart), Ryan (Kendra) and Shannon Lee McCallum (Charles); his grandchildren, Aislinn, Aidan, Thea, Charlie and Clodagh; his siblings, Michael (Kate) and Mary Ann; and his in-laws, Margaret Mulhern, Sheila Duncan, James Schmidt (Linda), Ronald Schmidt (Norma) and Cathy Levinson (Ed). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
