He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Dutton and Evelyn Dutton; his siblings, Don Dutton and Marion Ferris; his brothers-in-law, Bill Ferris, Irwin Wippel and Floyd Thompson; and his parents-in-law, Harry and Orpha Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Doris; his children, Mark (Louisa) and Anne (Andrew); his grandchildren, Owen, Sybilla and Mackenzie; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Dutton and Marie Wippel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
