He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Winter and Norman Winter; his brother Alan (late Frances); and his siblings-in-law, George Smith and Audene Winter.

He is survived by: his wife Delores; his children, Jennifer and Jeff; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Dylan, Caeden, Malee and Zac; and his siblings, Francis Smith and Ivan Winter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
