He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Herman Poort; his spouse Geraldine'Gerry'; his children, Carrie-Lynn, Neil DeVries, Diane, Matt Feenstra, Amy, Jonathan Reinink, Ed, Mandy Poort, Jeff and Rachel Poort; his grandchildren, Elora, Lucas, Carter, Jackson DeVries, Hailey, Talia, Kara, Landon Feenstra, Quinn, Samuel, Faith Reinink, Olivia, Tara, Kaylin, Elise, Gabriel Poort, Josiah, Gideon, Lynora, Tobias, Luther and Timothy Poort; and his siblings, Ben (Anita Poort), Dorothy (Jim Kingma), John (Anita Poort), Bert (Minny Poort), Linda (Jack Vanderhorst), Rick (Liz Vandergriendt), Trudy (John VanLuik), Nancy (Jake Leguijt), Jean (Bernie VanSpronsen) and Gord (Sharon Vandergriendt).
