He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Smith (Joyce); and his brother Donald Smith (Aileen). He is survived by: his children, Patty Pronovost (Dan), Laura Smith and Scott Smith; his grandchildren, Devin Pronovost (Amy), Joane Pronovost, Olivia Corbett and Bridget Corbett; his stepchildren, Brenda Bell (Ernie), Danny Cavers (Julie), Daryl Cavers (Donna), Karen Dowling (Wade), Linda Zavitz (Karl), Ross Cavers (Christine), Roy Cavers (Sandra), Bill Haalstra and Bonnie Haalstra; his siblings, Arthur Smith (late Margaret), Gordon Smith (Dolly) and Rita Young (Gordon); and his brothers-in-law, Bob Cox (late Sharon) and Gordon Cox (Elaine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
