He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Van Rooy and Arnoldina Vanden Boogaard. He is survived by: his daughter Shannon Sjaarda (Andrew); the mother of his child Marianne Buwalda; and his siblings, Leony Yacyshyn (Dave), Mariann Hibbard (Will), Diane Rodgers (Dave) and Chris Van Rooy (Sue Narsted). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
