Bernadette Houlden Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Bernadette Houlden of Victoria Harbour on Friday, July 26, 2019. We are so honoured that she passed away at home. She was the beloved wife of Gordon Houlden (predeceased). She was one of fifteen children and she is survived by her sister Audrey of Thunder Bay. She will be forever missed by her seven children and their spouses; Penny (Martin) MacDonald, Judy (Reno) Sardella, Herb (Donna) Houlden, Sally (the late Ron) Wiggins, Gary (Lynn) Houlden, David (Sabine) Houlden and Maria (Bill) Murray. She has joined her late infant son Christopher and late grandchildren; Jennifer, Michael, Katharine and Andrew. She is survived by grandchildren; Jeff, Laura, Lisa, Patricia, Nicholas, Julie, Maggie, David, Shannon, Christie, Nick, Brianna, Travis and Sara. Bernadette was the proud great-grandmother of 16. We would like to thank her wonderful caregiver nieces Sondra and Brenda. Also thank you to Baycrest and LIN employees who made her last days comfortable. We will love you forever mom. Rest in peace. Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home (330 Midland Ave, Midland) on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church (266 Albert St, Victoria Harbour) on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. Internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery to follow.
